Brand Heart

The soul of the brand. Everything we believe, who we're for, and why we exist.

Why we exist
Purpose
We create mindful ways to rise and rest.
Our purpose is the inverse of our enemy. The enemy is mindless habits — reckless caffeination, autopilot consumption, the unexamined routines that make people less like themselves. Our purpose is the opposite: mindful rituals that bring people back.
Core Belief
If you can change your mind, you can change anything.
Everything — from how we treat each other, to how we treat the planet, all the way down to how we treat ourselves — starts from within. A healthier mind leads to a healthier life. A healthier life leads to a healthier world.
Mission
We make premium functional mushroom beverages that support calm energy, deep rest, and the clarity to create.
Real ingredients at honest doses. Transparent labels. Zero bullshit. Every product is designed around the arc of your day — how you rise, how you rest, how you nourish.
Vision
A world where people rise, rest, and create in harmony with their bodies and minds.
We're living through a loneliness epidemic, an anxiety epidemic, and a meaning crisis — all at the same time. Creativity is the new productivity — and creativity doesn't come from overstimulation. It comes from clarity.
We own one word
Creativity

Not creative as in “makes art.” Creative as in: thinks originally, questions defaults, builds something from nothing. Creative the way Coca-Cola owns joy and Red Bull owns adrenaline. When someone interacts with MUD\WTR, they feel creative.

The Yin-Yang
Our logo is built on the yin-yang — the most compressed expression of what we believe: that the best version of you holds opposites in balance. Calm and power. Mud and lotus.
MUD\WTR
Mud = earth, grit, the raw material. WTR = water, flow, clarity, life. The lotus needs mud and water to bloom. No vowels. No excess. Stripped to what matters.
The Backslash
The escape character — it tells the system that what follows isn't what you expect. A disruption in the pattern. A quiet rebellion embedded in the name itself.
How we show up
01 We Are Conscious Rebels
We question the default. We confront the status quo of caffeine culture, wellness theater, and hustle worship — not with anger, but with humor, wit, and a straight face.
What this looks like
Fix Your Fix. Clapbacks that win the roast without making enemies. Copy that makes you screenshot it and send to a friend. A brand that treats you like an intelligent adult.
What this is not: Preachy. Angry. Try-hard. Goofy. Lecturing.
02 We Are Rooted in Nature
Everything we make comes from the earth — organic mushrooms grown in Carlsbad, CA, adaptogens, spices, and functional ingredients at real doses you can verify on the label.
What this looks like
Transparent labels with exact doses. Mushrooms grown in California. Product architecture that mirrors the arc of a day: Rise, Rest, Nourish.
What this is not: Greenwashing. Nature-as-marketing-prop. Vague ‘clean’ claims.
03 We Are Creators
MUD\WTR is for free thinkers, makers, and builders. We believe everyone has creative power, and the best ideas come from a grounded, clear-headed state — not a borrowed caffeine high.
What this looks like
Partnerships with artists, musicians, sculptors, dancers, spoken word poets. Content that celebrates the creative process — the real, unglamorous act of making something.
What this is not: Productivity optimization. Biohacker culture. Hustle repackaged.
04 We Are Stewards of Mental Wellbeing
Mental wellness is the work of this generation. We don't just sell products that support clarity and calm — we use our platform, our content, and our profits to advocate for healthier minds at a cultural level.
What this looks like
Advocacy for psychedelic-assisted therapy. Content about the actual science of how your brain works. Donating 2% of revenue to causes that create healthy minds.
What this is not: Armchair therapy. Performative wellness. Toxic positivity.
05 We Are Trustworthy
Trust is built through actions, not words. We tell you exactly what's in our products and how much. We own our mistakes. We practice what we preach.
What this looks like
Every ingredient and dose on the label. No proprietary blends. No miracle claims. A founder who speaks to camera like he's talking to a friend.
What this is not: Spin. Overclaiming. Marketing polish that hides the substance.
The Creative Rebel

For people who move through the world with curiosity — mentally, physically, and spiritually. They question default paths, explore new ideas, and experiment with how they live.

Sophia — Yin
The grounded presence. 30–45. Lives near nature — Ojai, Boulder, Santa Fe, Austin. Earthy, minimal, often barefoot. Listens to On Being and dances to Diplo. Linen over logos, hand-thrown mugs, upcycled vintage.
“It gets out of the way. I feel clear. Like I remembered what I actually feel like when I'm not jittery.”
Wes — Yang
The kinetic curiosity. Mid-30s to late 40s. A DJ, producer, builder. Trains jiu jitsu, surfs. Style mixes utility, heritage, and unexpected high-design. Podcasts: Rich Roll, Theo Von, Huberman, Rick Rubin.
“It supports the energy I already have. Real ingredients, no BS. And it travels well.”
The Shared Core
  • Vitality > Age
  • Evolution over optimization
  • Progressive but grounded
  • Quality over quantity
  • Conscious curiosity
  • Humor as a pressure valve

Sophia is the still water. Wes is the wave. Sophia is the warm ceramic mug in hand. Wes is the thermos in the surf truck. Sophia keeps us human. Wes keeps us hungry.

The pattern: accomplished but not loud about it. Grounded but not boring. Creative but not performative. Rebellious but not reckless.

The arc

People arrive through different doors — anxiety relief, gut health, cognitive focus, caffeine sensitivity. But the arc is the same.

Aspirational
The Creative
The person they're becoming. Coffee isn't the center of their morning anymore; a ritual is. They have energy because they're not burning it on anxiety.
Current
The Tired Professional
The person they are right now. Running on caffeine and fumes. Third cup by noon. Knows something's off. They've Googled “why does coffee make me anxious” at least once.
Cautionary
The Reckless Caffeinator
The person they don't want to become. Maximized caffeine. Energy drinks, double shots, pre-workout, repeat. This isn't someone we mock. This is someone we used to be.

What we fight
Mindless habits, like reckless caffeination.

Caffeine is a drug with a great PR team. 85% of adults consume it. Most have no idea how much, and they blame themselves for the side effects. The deeper enemy isn't the caffeine itself — it's the mindlessness. The unexamined habit.

MUD\WTR exists to interrupt that pattern. Not to judge it. To offer a door.
We shoot like artists, not advertisers
Timeless
Never trend-locked. Our visual language should feel as relevant in ten years as it does today.
Film grain, flash photography, natural light. References from the 70s to now, but never pinned to a single era.
Premium but imperfect
Elevated craft, not corporate polish. The beauty is in the texture, the asymmetry, the hand.
Wabi-sabi shapes, handwritten elements, visible brushstrokes. Production value that feels intentional, not sterile.
Earthy and grounded
Rooted in nature. Every visual should feel like it has weight, warmth, and origin.
Texture you can feel — grain, linen, ceramic, soil, bark. Warm tones dominate. Studio feels natural, not clinical.
Calm but alive
Stillness with energy underneath. The visual equivalent of a deep breath before action.
Simplicity with one unexpected element. A quiet frame with one point of kinetic tension. Movement implied, not shown.
Simple but layered
Clean at first glance, rich on closer look. Restraint with depth.
Minimal compositions that reward a second look. Typography that carries meaning. Color palettes that feel inevitable, not decorated.

When you look at a piece of MUD\WTR work, ask: Does this feel like nature? Complex, considered, imperfect, alive — and somehow always right.

The arc of the day

We take the most commonly shared human behaviors and create healthier alternatives.

Rise
The morning ritual. OG, Coffee, Matcha. Steady energy, clarity, and the alpha brain state where creativity lives.
Rest
The evening ritual. Reishi, Valerian, Ashwagandha. Without melatonin, without sedation. The act of making it is the signal the day is done.
Nourish
The midday ritual. 25g plant-based protein, 2,000mg functional mushrooms. Protein that thinks.

Together, Rise, Rest, and Nourish map to the most universal human behaviors. Each one supports a grounded, creative mind. The product line is the purpose, made tangible.

Values & Habits
1
Start with the why, and dig deep.
Seek truth. Apply critical thinking. Be unafraid to change your mind.
2
Be the solution.
No one is above rolling up their sleeves. Own solutions.
3
Prioritize impact.
Do fewer things with more effect.
4
We are elite performers.
Rest is for warriors. Strategic recovery and focused execution.
5
We walk the walk.
Transparency, candor, accountability. Our actions match our mission.
Habits
Own your shit.
No thrashing.
Done is better than perfect.
Money is sacred. Time is sacred.
Talk to people, not about people.
What gets measured matters.
Nothing is someone else's problem.

“I built this brand as a caffeine addict who couldn't feel his own signal anymore. Now it's a company that exists for one reason: to create grounded, creative minds through mindful daily rituals.”

“No mud, no lotus. It's not just a philosophy. It's our ingredient list. And our story.”
